General Information and Rules
- A roster listing the participants for each competition must be faxed to Laura Terronez at Kings ROP (fax: 559-589-7007) or completed on-line by 5 p.m., March 19, 2010. Entries will be accepted if postmarked by that date. Late entries will not be accepted. No participant substitutions will be allowed after March 19. No substitutes day of event.
- Contests are open to high school and ROP students, 16 years of age and older, within Tulare and Kings counties.
- The Giant Tech Prep EXPO Committee has the right to limit the entries based on facilities available. Entries will be limited to eight participants per school per event unless stated otherwise in the contest description. A preliminary competition may be required at the individual school site.
- An event may be canceled if there are fewer than three schools competing, if the competition lacks a chairperson, or for other unexpected circumstances. The Giant Tech Prep EXPO Committee will notify participants if an event is canceled or changed.
- All sponsoring teachers will receive a confirmed list of students entered in events and any special instructions from the Giant Tech Prep EXPO Committee prior to the competition. Students not registered WILL NOT be allowed to participate!
- Reasonable precautions will be taken to protect materials and equipment brought by the competitor; however, the Giant Tech Prep EXPO Committee WILL NOT be responsible for loss or damage. All items brought to the contest by the competitors should be clearly marked with the participant's name, address and/or school.
- SPECIAL NOTE: Roll call will be taken at each competition to insure student participation. All students must remain on the COS campus for the duration of the Giant Tech Prep EXPO. It will be the responsibility of the individual schools to monitor their students.
- The presentation of award certificates will be held on March 25, 2010 after the events are completed. The exact time and location will be announced that day. Cash awards will be delivered to the winner's school or teacher within two weeks. NO INDICATIONS OF PLACEMENT IN THE CONTESTS WILL BE PROVIDED BEFORE THE AWARDS CEREMONY.
